Great for educational entertainment, but not a true educational application

Community Review for BrainPOP
My Take
Brain Pop is easy to use, entertaining videos, and somewhat educational. Possibly it would be effective with younger students but it also just a fun source for keeping the kids entertained. But, it does often include perspectives and is built in a way that is not as effective as some of our textbooks.
How I Use It
I use it for my students as a "reward" for good work or just for downtime in class, but not as a legitimate tool for their education.

Provides brief and understandable explanations about new topics
I believe that this tool is extremely helpful in educational settings. The animations of the videos help students remain attentive while watching videos and ensure that they have a brief understanding of the topics.

BrainPOP is awesome for young learners!
I do think brainPOP is great for young learners. This teaching tool is very interactive, you will find things like quizzes, small assignments, and little activities during the video to mess around with. The video is also great for young learners, they make it so students don't feel distracted. In other words, brainPOP makes learning fun! I liked all these things, I like interactive teaching tool that does more than play a video on a topic.
