BrainPOP
Community Review for BrainPOP
My Take
I really like BrainPOP and the way my students react to it. The biggest drawback, in my opinion, is the subscription cost. A classroom subscription, right now, is $230. A school subscription is $1,795. There are also subscription options for family use, homeschools, and virtual schools.
How I Use It
BrainPOP is a great supplemental resource for the classroom. The students love it and are excited to use it. The maps, movie, and quiz features build skills for taking notes and comprehension. It is a good way to introduce a topic, but some activities can be worksheet-oriented. Choose the activities and method of presentation to meet your needs. I am excited that Newsela is now an embedded feature that will help differentiate instruction for all learners.
