My Take

Brainpop is great for introducing concepts but it does not provide indept analysis of content. While it provides videos in multiple subject areas, it does not provide any practice for students. This site is not free. A small percentage of the videos are available for free but you need to purchase a single or site license in order to access all the content. You can contact the developers for them to add a video that you feel is missing but content is not updated often. The site has not changed or advanced much in several years.

How I Use It

Brainpop is great for introducing a concept or topic. I use it in my math class to introduce vocabulary and content via a multi-media platform. The videos are short, funny and engaging. You are able to pause and replay the videos. A quiz is provided at the end which can be done whole class or printed for individual assessment. Brainpop provides you some simple worksheets/vocabulary sheets to use during or after the video.
