My Take

BrainPop is a great way to present the same information taught in the classroom through a different media. Students really enjoy the funny videos and like exploring new topics independently. Teachers can use this application to climb the SAMR ladder by incorporating interactive video into their instructions that has associated assessments. Students can then share their scores and information with teachers through email or simply by showing them their tablet. Overall, it's a great way to deliver material in a fun way that students can really relate.

How I Use It

BrainPop is a great resource for Common Core based information that provides students with an interactive cartoon and corresponding quiz . In my classroom I use BrainPop as an introduction for a lesson, small group independent work, whole class discussion, and review for students struggling with a specific topic. All of the material is presented in a visual manner so students with special needs have greater access to the material. I also use the quizzes at the end of the videos as a formal assessment in whole group and/or individual assessment.
