I would love to see brain pop have student accounts where you can assign the videos to them at school or for the home and you can put some on queue. This would be a great flipped learning tool!
The one thing that does bother me is that it is on a subscription only which is fine because my school bought the subscription. However, we only bought the one that is accessible from school so if I wanted to go home and look up a video in order to prepare for the next day's lesson, I couldn't do that. I wouldn't have access. So all the video planning must be done within a certain time constraint. They should have teacher prep accounts so they can watch it at home to prepare for lessons the following day.
How I Use It
What an amazing tool! Brainpop offers animated video clips that are catered to specific content. I use it in a variety of ways. As a whole class for science, we watch the videos together and then we take the review quiz to solidify our learning. In language arts, since I have stations in elementary school, I have the kids watch the videos individually or in small groups and take the quiz. This is more for exposure (preview) before I teach the lesson. It was great because I gave them the username and password and they were great. Some of them were done early and they even watched videos that were in the same category to extend their learning.
