My Take
Great, engaging videos for introducing new concepts or reviewing skills in a new way. The quizzes following the movies a good and my students need to be listening closely to score well. The videos often provide a good starting point for a class discussion on a particular historical event. Even though it's always Tim and Moby, my students always look forward to them.
How I Use It
I use Brainpop's video of the day to start off my classroom discussion each morning. I also use specific videos to introduce concepts or to reinforce skills. Most times I use this during whole class instruction.

Provides brief and understandable explanations about new topics
I believe that this tool is extremely helpful in educational settings. The animations of the videos help students remain attentive while watching videos and ensure that they have a brief understanding of the topics.

BrainPOP is awesome for young learners!
I do think brainPOP is great for young learners. This teaching tool is very interactive, you will find things like quizzes, small assignments, and little activities during the video to mess around with. The video is also great for young learners, they make it so students don't feel distracted. In other words, brainPOP makes learning fun! I liked all these things, I like interactive teaching tool that does more than play a video on a topic.
