My Take

Do not lock Book Creator in the corner as only being able to tell/write stories. Book Creator can be used at any level and with any content. Who doesn't love being able to upload videos, pictures, drawings, or their own text into a book? Students are able to collaborate or work individually. They can start from a blank canvas or start from a template that you have created for them. With a template, you can add links, your own videos, and lock backgrounds, and such to keep students from moving them.

How I Use It

I have used Book Creator in several different ways. I have used it in training for teachers, kindergarten, and 3rd-grade students. In training, I have created a book with a template to be shared with the teachers. They were able to collaborate and share ideas within the same book. My kindergarteners create 10 frame books. The template was amazing for them to add shapes into the frame to represent the number on the page. We did a lot of practice beforehand with kindergarteners before letting them at it. The third graders had experienced Book Creator before and had a general understanding of what to do. The students were able to create their own ending to a novel read in class. They loved being able to create their own book and story!
