Students' Voices
Community Review for Book Creator
My Take
I overall love Book Creator. I like that students are supported with this program especially students with IEPs and 504s. Students are able to voice record and a transcript or caption can be provided. Students can preview their own book and have it read to them. This allows for students to hear if they have made any mistakes in their writing.
How I Use It
I previously used Book Creator to give students' voices. I'm an inclusion teacher and I think it's important that students have voice and choice as well as see themselves as more than students with IEPs. Book Creator gave my students voices by allowing them to become published authors and illustrators. Students created books to teach others things they were good at, from drawing to shooting a bow and arrow or cleaning their rooms. My students were engaged and eager to work everyday. I am currently creating books for my students to uses a resource in Math and Science during virtual learning at the beginning of the school year. I want the students to be able to have the same resources at home as we will be using in the traditional class setting.
