My Take

This product is more for the teacher than the student. It is a digital platform that gives teachers and students a place where they can collect, annotate, and share resources. It's easy to get signed up and create your first Blendspace. Teachers can create a blendspace to share whole group or create a class where a blenspace can be shared for individual student use. Each Blendspace has several digital options to search for resources including Google, YouTube, Educreations, Flickr, as well as the ability to upload from dropbox or Google drive. Blendspaces play like a slideshow and students are able to comment on each tile, creating a space for students to learn digital citizenship. I would've rated it higher, but I feel this products success depends on how the individual teacher integrates it with the curriculum. In my classroom, I feel it earns top honors.

How I Use It

I use Blendspace for organizing my teacher materials and for designing digital lessons for my 1:1 Chromebook class. My Blendspaces have tutorials on tech tools that I share with other teachers, as well as topics for my students which have included daylight saving time, gold rush, and water conservation. It's a great tool to create quick lessons without having to be super techy! Also, these can be accessed in the classroom or at home for those with internet access. Blendspace supports the flipped and blended learning models that I use in my classroom.
