My Take

Animoto will give classroom codes so that students can create videos longer than 30 seconds. These codes do expire and you can only get 50 of them. For teachers that have multiple classes 50 is not enough codes. Thirty seconds is enough if you are doing a book trailer or a brief project.

How I Use It

Students used Animoto with the CSM lesson "My Digital Life". I have also given this as a choice activity any time students need to create a video project. I have not had any issues with the website working or saving the students' work. Students found this website easy to work with-it was very intuitive. It was easy to work with and the students learned about storyboarding and design elements. They presented their projects so practiced public speaking. Animoto embeds easily into their e-portolios.

Great for Beginners

I like that it so easy to use, but I would say that it is something for beginners and if you are more advanced and like to be more hands-on with your projects to maybe go for a different program.

Easy to use and great for visualizations

The product is amazing, as it is extremely easy for students to use. The results are those of professional videos without the extensive need for software and video editing skills.

Good app that is beginner friendly as well!

In my opinion, this app is very good! and beginner friendly as well! For someone who is just being introduced to video making, or just wants a quick way to make a nice video, this is the app for you.
