My Take
Animoto is an easy to learn tool for creating short videos. These videos can be created to show understanding of content or by teachers to act as lesson introductions or reviews. You can use a free account which limits you to 30 second videos, or teachers can apply for a teacher account which gives the teacher and students the ability to create full length videos. This is a free teacher account. The product is limited in that it creates the video for the user; there are no "editing" options other than what content you add.
How I Use It
I use it to create book trailers with my students, as well as library promotional videos. My teachers use it for various projects in class.

Great for Beginners
I like that it so easy to use, but I would say that it is something for beginners and if you are more advanced and like to be more hands-on with your projects to maybe go for a different program.
