My Take
Easy to navigate and use, a great site to have students working independently to practice skills or create products. Would make a great addition to classroom centers. Amount of time indicated above is for primary students. I strongly believe upper elementary students would fall under the less than 5 minutes category.
How I Use It
I use this site with primary students regularly including Keyboarding Zoo with Kindergarteners. Its a great intro to the keyboard that helps with letter recognition and finding the keys. I look forward to using the new feature of the site called animate to get students creating gifs. There are also a lot of great games that practice math skills around themes (holidays, special events etc.)

Educational yet Enjoyable!
Ever since I was in kindergarten, teachers would allow us to go on ABCya during computer class. I was not confident technology wise as a young child so this exposure made me much more comfortable. The games were all so fun to play with, I remember my class was always so excited whenever we got to go on ABCya. Looking back, I didn't even realize how educational the games actually were; I didn't even notice as a kid playing, I was too busy having fun!

Versatile and fun for any age
This app's versatility makes it perfect for a classroom setting. There are many games to choose from, and several age groups are represented (K-6). From math to reading to typing, Abcya has something for everyone! Whatever your students need to learn, you can find a game on this app for them.

Free version has many ads, but does the job.
There are many ads, which sometimes makes the mobile version unusable, but overall ABCya is good for its value given that it is free. The variety of games is a double edged sword though, as students don't have a learning path to follow since they are free to choose whatever they'd like to play. This can be overwhelming to some students.
