Opinions on this game
It combines strategic gameplay with learning objectives. It offers immersive storytelling and challenges that develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking. The game excels in entertainment, making it highly appealing to students, but its academic value is moderate as its learning goals are more implicit than direct. This tool is best for supplementing traditional teaching with an engaging and interactive experience.

Cute, but not helpful
While the game’s bright design and easy mechanics offer a momentary escape that could support mental health, it ultimately lacks substance. There are no meaningful opportunities for players to practice problem-solving, empathy, or emotional growth. Its repetitive tasks and focus on in-app purchases detract from its potential as an engaging or educational resource. It’s suitable for short-term mental health breaks but doesn’t contribute significantly to learning or personal development.

I thought this game was cute, bright, and a great idea to focus on the mental health of young kids which we don't do enough of.
I thought this was a very cute resource as a teaching tool. It gives tasks to complete to better mental health like going on a walk for 20 minutes. Some of the tasks do require movement and action, but I think they are all great suggestions or tasks to complete to get kids moving. They get to take care of their pets and receive points for completing the tasks and if they don't feel like moving around too much their tasks like meditating are available for completion. I feel we don't focus on mental health enough and the suggestion for a therapy also may open doors for kids going through this journey.

Liked, not Loved
The game's function is to provide players with a fun and engaging way to explore their creativity, strategy, and social skills. It also promotes teamwork and collaboration, as players can work together to achieve common goals and share resources and knowledge. The purpose of the game is to entertain and challenge players while also helping them develop valuable skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and communication. It's great that the game is free to play, and also it does offer in-app purchases, and players should be mindful of their spending and privacy settings when playing.

This is a useful and creative app that can be beneficial for younger children and adolescents.
I thought that this app was super creative and cute. The concept is based on introducing the user to certain positive mental health activities such as meditation and mindfulness. The app itself is very entertaining with bright colors, sound effects, and music. The app utilizes gamification to bring the user through "missions" on fictional islands. Although the settings of the game and the missions are fictional, the processes in which the user is taught to solve the problems of the game are real and important concepts that can be extremely beneficial to mental health. I thought an important aspect of the app is that is explains its message when your first download it and encourages those with severe depressive symptoms to seek professional help. Overall, I feel this app is very creative and can definitely be utilized with younger students.

Guardians: Paradise Island
I feel this is a good tool to teach children about taking a step back and taking it easy. I like how it focuses on mental health and tells kids that anyone can go through mental health issues. I also really like how it has different challenge and different varieties of these challenges so that you don't have to constantly do the same thing. I also enjoy how it asks for feedback about the challenge made you feel or how it helped you. I think this a great way for students to relax for a moment, and have fun while also helping with their mental health.

Guardians: Paradise Island
I think this a great resource as a teaching tool. I really liked how it finds tasks that are meaningful to one. I do feel as if there should be more evidence required from the user to prove that they completed the task such as taking a picture of a walk.

This app is a great resource, targeting younger children who are struggling with mental health disorders and acknowledging their emotions.
I like how this app can keep children motivated and engaged by rewarding kids for identify and describing their emotions. This app allows you to reflect how you feel in a meaningful way. It also teaches students that emotions are just a cycle and if you are in a bad flunk, it will pass! I love the underlying message it teaches.
