Seesaw Sends Students Soaring to Success - Using Seesaw to Organize and Showcase Student Portfolios
This can be a great tool for learning if you use it correctly. Students have a great opportunity to demonstrate knowledge mastery by drawing a scene from a play, typing a written response to a question, take a picture of a project, or even shoot a short video explanation. It can also be used as a way for students to collaborate on projects with each other. A student can post a link to his story from Google Docs that he is writing and get feedback on his story from everyone in the class without having to share his document with thirty people. It is also a great tool to keep parents in the know about how their student is doing in class and what their student is currently learning in a particular unit. With most apps, it is all about how a teacher has the students use it that makes it either effective or ineffective. I love using this tool as a way to check for understanding in math class and promote collaboration in English. It is a great tool to showcase student learning and success, while teaching students how to build one another up and encourage each other to do their very best in everything that they post.

Swing Forward in Learning with Seesaw!
I highly recommend this app for any elementary classroom, even through grade 5. Teachers can have multiple classes which is appealing for teachers that work with a variety of students. The app has a great visual appeal and is easy enough for a kindergartener to understand. I love the functionality of the various tasks - how students can draw, type and record audio all in one place. This is a must-have for any elementary teacher!

"The" App to Embrace Student's Agency
What I love about seesaw:
1- Increase student's voice and choice = student's agency and reveal student's love for sharing their learning and making them feel proud of themselves and take ownership
2- Easy to use by all and easy to share with parents
3- Keep confidentiality as parents can only view their child's work, so no "comparing" students etc.
4- Excellent to view progress of a child over the years! We can keep the same "class" on Seesaw but change the teachers and therefore, the students keep the same QR code and have all their history. How amazing it would be to see the changes over a few years!
5- Unlimited storage (I still can't believe this)
6-Makes teachers life SO MUCH easier because students do not need to take "backup", they simply save on camera roll and upload to Seesaw.
7- A live example of learning about and experiencing "Digital Citizenship" by becoming a creator and a publisher. Students can even make mistakes "safely" because Seesaw is not public. Teacher can decide to approve/moderate and keep teaching students about best digital citizenship practices.

Simple, yet incredibly effective, digital portfolio and sharing tool
Seesaw is a valuable digital tool to add to your tool belt! It encourages creativity for students. It allows students voices to be heard by more than one person (the teacher) and creates authentic communication experiences. It has equipped my students with a place to display their work and showcase their successes. It is also a major time saver in that, you can share with parents and they can view their student's digital portfolio anytime, anywhere and thus, you do not need to continuously print out projects to send home in backpacks, email files, etc. Seesaw is available not only through the app, but also as a web-based tool. So, for schools/classes without access to iPads, this tool is still readily accessible. Using a computer with a webcam and microphone is recommended to be able to access and use all of the great features of Seesaw (voice, video, and images) in addition to the text, drawing, and link sharing capabilities. I look forward to teaching professional development sessions on Seesaw to other teachers this summer as it is such a unique, easy to use, and effective tool!

Seesaw: powerful educational tool for teachers, students, and parents!
Seesaw can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of everyone in education by increasing the communication, collaboration, reflection, and ease of access for every stakeholder. One of the best features of this app is that a student can now connect with a larger authentic audience and a teacher will increase the level of engagement of the class.

Showcase your work on SeeSaw
Excellent tool. I loved how easily portfolios were shared to parents and the privacy settings could be adjusted. Being able to store files in individual folders (Art, math, PE) made it easy to store and retrieve files. Parents comments and 'likes' was appreciated as was being able to post videos however learners needed some guidance on file size. Its a tool where learners can be independent and use with little teacher guidance once shown a few times.

Easy and Comprehensive ePortfolio
I like that Seesaw interfaces with so many file types and other apps. Students can upload photos, videos, and links to their portfolio and they can also take photos, draw, and take notes within Seesaw. Seesaw allows students to record audio and annotate on top of photos. Many apps use the "open in" feature to transfer projects directly from the app created in to Seesaw. The way buttons are organized makes the workflow easy for students. Another feature in Seesaw is the ability of the teacher to add an image, which all the students can make a copy of. Students can then annotate, working toward a paperless classroom. This feature works well when my students want to draw on an image, such as matching or circling items, but not when they want to write words. I've requested a feature to allow for typing.

My "Go To" Creation App That Connects Schools and Families
I love the versatility this app offers with the different item types students can create - drawing, note, link, recording, photo, camera roll. Assignments can be modified to meet the needs of struggling and advanced learners.Classroom setup is quick and Seesaw’s support staff was fast and efficient in helping me work toward getting the app unblocked on our district’s network. After I registered with Seesaw, I received several short e-mails with ideas for how to use Seesaw in the classroom. Perfect for those looking for meaningful ways to integrate technology into their instruction. Seesaw helps greatly with workflow allowing students to create, share, view and comment on others’ work within a few taps. It also works directly with other apps (like PicCollage and Shadow Puppets) and allows students to save directly to their Seesaw profiles through the share features. Setting options within each class, including those for work approval, commenting, and parent access, allow teachers to customize permissions to best meet the needs of their class. Each student receives a personalized QR code as part of an informative letter that allows her family to access her work - a great way to engage families in learning and school without adding more to teachers’ plates. One perk similar apps don’t offer is the ability to download and save work offline. An addition I would like to see is for users to have the ability to create items that included multiple pages of drawings. One change I’d like made relates to students accessing Seesaw through a computer. They use a class access code and it is only valid for 14 minutes, when used as centers this can be a hindrance. I would like teachers to have the ability to modify the length of time the code is valid.

Learn, Create & Share with Seesaw!
This app, hands down, is my favorite app, for sure. I'm a huge proponent of effective uses of tablets in schools and this app supports my mission 100%. Students can easily capture their learning by snapping a photo, recording a video, drawing a picture, pulling work from the camera roll, or typing a note and then share it with their teacher and classmates. Student work appears on the class wall similar to Edmodo where the teacher and other students can comment, like, and create conversations all to keep the learning going. One of my favorite quotes from a conference I went to is, "Don't let content die on the device." We have our students spend a lot of time creating "stuff" and then it just sits on the device and is forgotten. This app keeps those things alive and makes learning a social event. Do you have students who are emerging or struggling readers and writers? Have no fear. Seesaw is here allowing students to post audio explanations and comments to anything they share ...a great way to differentiate. Do you have your students create works of art in other apps like Toontastic, PicCollage or ChatterPix? No worries, save those to the camera roll and then Seesaw allows you to upload that work and easily share. Shadow Puppets will automatically upload it to Seesaw for you. Worried that your parents won't be getting the normal amount of papers in their Tuesday folders? Get them connected to Seesaw as well so they can keep up with the learning that goes on in your classroom. Last, but not least, Seesaw provides amazing support in getting started and ideas on how to implement in your classroom. Just check out their website. Give this app (or website) a try. You will not be disappointed.
