Informative
My students enjoy the articles they read. Some students ask to login to Readtheory during recess or when they are allowed to choose an activity instead of the learning platforms we use that are game- based. Readtheory also allows a differentiated reading experience with the need for me to spend hours looking for articles. This is especially helpful considering I have students at 3 reading levels (and none AT grade level). The articles have appealed to my students and they like to share facts from what they have read.

Read Theory is the worst. I do not recommend it. Everyone in my class hates it including me. Half the answers make no sense even for me. They should shut this website down.
Terrible, basically made me want to smash my computer.

Great
I liked this game, but the only drawback is that you can not control the topics you read.

Great data but groanworthy busy work for students
I really liked how it automatically adjusted passages provided to their level. However, the lack of control over topics makes it less useful than tools like CommonLit, where you can match readings to your current focus. The data provided was great, but I do wonder how affected it was by lack of student buy in. It is gamified, but the badges didn't have any draw for my 9th graders. Students would often complain they got one question wrong and were dropped multiple grade levels. Most concerningly, after a semester of regular use paired with intensive reading instruction in the classroom, the data showed minimal growth, which conflicted with the data provided by other assessments. I loved the reporting features, but the lack of interest for students seems to be a breaking point.

Love this resource for student monitoring.
I would like the option for text to speech for the questions and an easy to access dictionary for students. The data could be easier to print off for parents- but hey, it's free.

Easy assessment of students' reading levels
My biggest issue is that it is difficult to incorporate this tool with other areas of the curriculum. When class time is limited, it's a little disjointed to stop to use this tool.
