I love it for my special education students. They can work at their pace and are able to learn badges. MobyMax works as a Substitution for some applications such as math, but reaches the Augmentation part of SAMR in the RLA portion of learning. As for completely redesigning and making any modifications to a students learning it gives instant feedback and correction as well as redirection, where as doing the same work on paper will take more time.

I like mobymax because students are able to work at their own pace. Mobymax fits the needs of all students according to their own performance level. Students will be introduced to a lesson on mobymax then students will do several practice questions before moving ahead. Students receive badges for their work and get very excited when they get a new badge. I think a downfall is it does not explain the lesson in dept. So if the students is being introduced to a brand new lesson they are not familiar with tend to struggle through the lesson. My school has purchased mobymax for all learners and each learner has his or her own user name.

MobyMax is a great tool that allows you to differentiate learning. Many students have gaps in there math background. Those gaps prevent them from seeing success. Using MobyMax has helped my students fill in gaps that they are missing. If you do not pay for the full site the reports are limited along with some of the student motivation pieces.

Overall, I think MobyMax is a great program. If you are looking for adaptive software that can support student learning while meeting individual needs, then this is it. When I use the grammar function for example, I find that within my classes, I will have students on three different grade levels in their understanding. This program provides individual support so that I can then concentrate on class lessons around grade level usage or construction of sentences and paragraphs. This program should NOT be used as a stand alone. It does not replace good instructions and personalized support. It DOES provide useful, individual lessons based on strengths and weakness in a way that is very manageable for a teacher. There is little extra work that needs to be take on by the teacher (though on has the option to create a very rich and interactive environment through MobyMax). It has an engaging platform, and the kid enjoy using it.
