The free version of JogNog provided a varied assortment of quizzes for grades 2- high school. The quizes offer students a chance to test their subject knowledge and are motivated as they acquire coins.
Overall I liked JogNog as a teaching tool. It provided ready made quizzes in every content area. There were lots of quizzes for students to be used as assessments, review and homework. It is also aligned with the common core and you can align the quizzes with your curriculum. At times the earning of coins element got in the way as some students focused more on the coins and less on carefully reading questions and using test-taking strategies rather than guessing, just so they could accrue coins. I liked the free factor, but if a student wanted to go deeper into an area they were blocked unless the class has the paid version. It supported my teaching, I don't think it made it better, but it is a great supplement to lesson planning that is easy to set up and for the class and can be used immediately.

JogNog provides practical, engaging and self-motivating student review activities.
This website is perfect for students who are far ahead in class and want to be challenged. At the same time, it is also great for providing specific review for students who are not able to keep pace with the class. With a paid subscription, a teacher can create quizzes for all students in the class and customize JogNog quizzes for advanced, remedial or ESL students. This is great for differentiating instruction by ability. JogNog really focuses on basic content knowledge rather than application, so it is really suited for review or for pre-assessing students. The majority of useful classroom features are only available with a paid subscription. I definitely feel that JogNog is engaging for students and that they are motivated to collect their coins and build their towers. Many students thrive with this type of competition. The fast pace of the quizzes may be too much for some students, but many will enjoy the quick, competitive aspect Overall, a great resource for keeping students engaged, on-task and self-motivated!
