An engaging way to review content or assess prior knowledge
Much like cooking a Thanksgiving dinner, it takes quite some time to make a Kahoot game, but only a few minutes to enjoy before it's over. Kahoot games DO take some time to set up. In order for Kahoot to work, your students will need access to devices and wifi. At my school, we have an iPad cart we share, but if students have their own phones, tablets, etc., they can connect to a Kahoot game. Designing a Kahoot game to use before and after instruction of a unit would be a fun way to gather data on both ends.

Amazing way to engage every student in reviewing content.
My students beg to play Kahoot. It has been a great option when we have a few minutes left in class. I keep question banks of what I know we will learn throughout the year ready. My favorite part is that I am able to review the content after each question and reteach quickly if needed.

Kahoot! gives a quiz show atmosphere to your classroom.
I think Kahoot! is a very useful tool for reviewing concepts. I like that it is a game format and that the students can type in a nickname and see their name on the screen and on the leaderboard. My students get very excited when we are going to "Kahoot" It" as they like to say. I like that it is a multiple choice format because it lends itself nicely to lower level learners. They can use process of elimination or choose one of the four answer choices and still participate in the game even if they get stuck on a question. A downfall is that the students only see the answer choices and not the question. Depending on the set. Up of your classroom this can present a problem if the students don't have a clear line of vision to the game screen.

Kahoot, like many apps, is what you make of it. Teachers can create quizzes and discussions, and students can log on to the site from a mobile device or laptop. Assignments can be made public or private. It engages the students' competitiveness!
At the end of the game you can print a spreadsheet allowing you to see which questions each group got right/wrong. This is fantastic, but if too many students enter the game at one time, it kicks them out randomly, so I try to limit it to less than 12 players. This means if my students are playing as a group, I'm not getting individual data collection. HOWEVER, the data is still a useful tool.
This is a great site to use as a review. You can video and pictures to your questions as well. When I use this with my students, their competitive spirit is definitely engaged.

Very cool interactive tool for my classroom teachers. I used it with my staff as a fun way to see how there year is going.
I think it would be a great tool to use within classrooms. I wonder if there are hidden costs as you try to do more advanced things.....nothing that I could see initially.

A fun and interactive way for kids to show their understanding!
The kids really enjoy playing the game because it gives them almost instant feedback and they like being able to see who is in the "Top FIve" while they play the game. The quizzes are very easy to create and you could literally take any multiple choice assessment and turn it into a Kahoot. You can download the results of the game later and check to see which students understood the concepts. All kids are able to participate because the choices are represented by shapes and colors that correlate with what they see on their iPads. The only problem I have encountered is when kids get kicked out of the game and have to join again. Otherwise, it is a lot of fun for me and the kids.

A fun, interactive, competitive way to review that provides instant feedback to students!
I think Kahoot is a great way to review with students and I love how students get instant feedback while they are playing the game. I like how it creates a healthy competitive environment within the classroom and all students are engaged. Kahoot could serve kids better if the amount of answer choices was increased and the allowance of text for questioning was increased. Kahoot could improve if it provided students feedback for correct answers instead of just saying if they got the answer right or wrong. Kahoot could become a more reliable informal assessment tool if the answer choices would scramble on the students computers.

Extremely engaging game-like student response system to check for understanding (4 Rating)
Overall, I really enjoy using Kahoot as a check-for-understanding tool and a review game. The students L-O-V-E when we play, and really seem to participate well in the lesson. As a teaching tool, Kahoot is very useful to me because I can instantly see if students are comprehending lesson material, return to the questions students seem to struggle with and address misconceptions. Additionally, once the game is done, teachers can download the results (in a spreadsheet) of each quiz and get an overview for each student's performance. Not only does it show which questions they answered correctly, it also indicates how long it took to answer each question.
First of all, Kahoot is simple for students to use because they do not need a Kahoot log-in username or password. Students can join the polls/discussions/quizzes with a simple PIN code specific for your activity. One of the great aspects of Kahoot is that it can be played on any device that has a web browser. I love the ability to add images and/or videos into the questions, rather than just typed text. I also appreciate the ability to set the time limits on each question; some questions require more time to read, think and comprehend, while others are just a quick check of instant recognition. This is a helpful aspect, too, if you have students who are not strong readers.
In many ways, Kahoot is a great way to informally gather data on student learning and understanding. The information you gain from student responses allows you as a teacher to immediately address any misunderstandings, and/or it allows you to see which students will need more personal attention in following lessons. Not only have I created quizzes and discussions, but the students also found ways to create their own! A little friendly competition in a game-based technology tool really amps up the engagement!

I absolutely love this as a quiz tool! The graphics are so engaging. This is a fun way to see what student may or may not have learned.
I love this and I am excited to use it in the classroom. This would make question and answer portions of my class more fun for the students.
