Love the concept, would like more flexibility!
Overall, I think it's a strong tool. If you are 1:1 and are will to commit some startup cost in terms of time, it's 100% worth it. Students find it engaging, it can house a lesson very neatly, and it helps you quickly check for understanding. I do wish there was more flexibility in slide creation and the ability to modify purchased Nearpods.

Increase student engagement using interactive lessons with embedded formative assessment
I absolutely love Nearpod! Nearpod lessons allow me to incorporate technology in an authentic way while delivering engaging content. One of my students said, "It's like a game, but we are learning." Using Nearpod is also an excellent way for me to implement flipped learning in my classroom, even for young students. I loved that I could assign a lesson to some students so that I could work individually or in small groups with other students. Students working on Nearpod were almost always engaged so I didn't have to worry about them being off-task while I was working with their peers.
Another thing I love about Nearpod is that it is very inexpensive. You can use the application with whole-group, live lessons for free. And while there are many free lessons on Nearpod that you can choose from, most of the paid lessons are only a few bucks. Also, you can import or create your own lessons for free. I was disappointed that the student-paced feature is not available with the free product. You have to have at least a Gold-level membership which is $10/month, or you can get your principal on board to purchase a School-level membership that offers volume discounts. I really appreciated that Nearpod gave me and my colleagues a free trial this past year.
Overall, I would recommend Nearpod to any teacher who wishes to increase student engagement and integrate technology in a meaningful way!

Nearpod is Near Perfect!
Nearpod is a fantastic site that is easy to use! The site can be used for presentation purposes or as formative assessments. I love how you can change from live view and student paced views depending on how you want the content paced. The site is user friendly and has a lot of support for teachers as they learn how to navigate the site for the first time. The overall quality of the presentation is dependent on the creator. Depending on the depth of the content and the variety of slides and imagery used the presentation can have a lot of meaning and depth.

Engage students like never before!
As a teacher who teaches teachers, I have seen classrooms transformed with Nearpod. All students are engaged, and actively participate when questions are embedded into the presentation. It is a great tool to enhance learning in the classroom.

A+ for student engagement with content
Nearpod is great for any classroom where technology is available. If you are BYOD or 1:1 or just have a cart of devices to check out or a computer lab to reserve; Nearpod can work for you. It is easy to setup and easy to invite students into the session for the lesson of the day with the PIN's Nearpod creates for each lesson. The reports it prepares following a lesson provide amazing information for teachers to be used for assessment purposes. Student like the easy to use interface and I loved it's ease of use and setup.

Nearpod - FANTASTIC Tool for the 21st-Century Classroom
Nearpod is a fantastic tool. I've recently upgraded to the Gold edition, but the free version is extraordinarily useful as well. My only critique would be that creating slides on Nearpod, while simple, doesn't allow for much creativity - creating presentations with a "wow" factor is a must for all classrooms, especially high school.

Create, Engage, and Assess!
I love that I can use an already created Power Point or Google Slides presentation and "Nearpodize" it. I like that fact that it provides an opportunity for ALL students to share their thoughts and ideas. I also like the Virtual Reality tours that fully immerse my students into a different environment- it's a great HOOK for their lessons.

Fantastic way of putting everything directly in front of your students as well as taking quick and easy data.
Overall, Nearpod is as good as you want it to be. With all of the interactive aspects that you can put in (quizzes, matching, field trips, website links, drawing, open ended responses, videos, etc) you can make your sessions as complex or as simple as you need them to be. I have used almost every type of slide and have found it to be wonderful. Having everything happen right in front of the students individually (or in small group) makes things so much smoother and easier. No longer do you have to worry about kids forgetting glasses, having a hard time seeing, or taking forever to take notes one word at a time while looking at the board then their paper then the board... It can seem overwhelming at times when you are trying to set up session exactly how you want it and the generic slides you get in the actual program are not the best, but this is easily overcome by creating slideshows in either PowerPoint or Google Slides and then dragging it into the Nearpod program.

Nearpod is a must have presentation tool for your class.
Some features are paid, and I hesitate to say that paying is worth the price point, but if you have the resources then I highly recommend it. Nearpod is an excellent presentation tool that my students and me use. I love the formative assessment options like quick poll, multiple choice, short answer, draw it, and more. I also highly value being able to use web content tool. Overall, I think that Nearpod is a must have app for any teacher.

Engaging Lesson Delivery With Built in Formative Assessment
I think this is the strongest teaching tool I have used. I liked the fact that I controlled the pace and content that was projected to the students. I also like the built in formative assessment tool. Students can answer questions by short answer, drawing and I especially like the fill in the blank by dragging and dropping from a word bank.
The free version does the job, but it is limited by the amount of space you are given for free. You cannot ask all types of questions "on the fly".
An added benefit of nearpod is that you can download lessons that other teachers have created for free or for a fee. There are whole curriculums available on nearpod.com.
The only way this product could be improved is the fact that I would like it to lock into the student's computer so they could not open another application or tab while they are in the lesson.
