When people say that our district's purchase of iPads for every student was a mistake, I whip out Nearpod and prove them wrong.
I love Nearpod. I wish my District would buy the full super duper version with all of the bells and whistles.

An interactive presentation tool, that includes assessment.
I am a huge fan of Nearpod. It seems to be intended for the 1 to 1 classroom, but could be used in a small group setting where each student has a device to use. I love that Nearpod will keep data complete with names. The bank of lessons are helpful to, although some of them come with a cost. The free version of Nearpod is fine for beginning teachers, but I have found that it is quite limiting. Creativity is not required to build a Nearpod presentation, which can be good for beginning users. A yearly subscription provides more opportunities to use Nearpod, specifically the homework feature. This idea can bridge the gap between our classrooms and the kids who have frequent absences. Nearpod is not ipad specific so any device can connect to it at school or at home.

Great interactive tool for whole-class discussions or individual student exploration and reinforcement!
I really like this tool, and my students will start bugging me if I go to long without using it. They always seem to enjoy the lessons I do with it. The interactive features help to make the lessons more engaging and allow me to better track how well students are learning the material.

Engaging lessons using technology with iPads
Using a class set of iPads, students are engaged individually and yet guided through a whole group lesson. Those students who are distracted in a traditional lecture and individual practice will love this new way of teaching. To prepare students for future digital testing and activities, Nearpod is an app that helps move your students closer to learning how to work on a tablet devise through typing, drawing, and creating. If your internet is slow it takes time to load the program to a whole set of iPads, so I suggest having your students upload the program while working on something else to help with dealing with classroom management especially if you are using it for an evaluation lesson. Time will be wasted if they are sitting there waiting for their peers' iPads to get set up. It is not a big deal, but part of using technology. I don't have the time to create my own lessons on Nearpod, so I hope I can find more lessons in their library for students in 1st and 2nd grade.

Great app if your entire class has access to Apple Products!
If your entire class has access to Apple products, this is a great teaching tool. It's great for presenting material, as it keeps students engaged and allows the teacher to work at their own pace. It's a great app for learners of all levels.

Guaranteed Participation and Immediate Feedback
In 1:1 classrooms Nearpod is a tool that I would use on daily basis. I just take a powerpoint and use Nearpod to make it interactive. It does take a couple minutes to set up, especially if it is a topic that I have not yet prepared a PowerPoint for. The only issues I have experience are a lack of wifi signal in a classroom and students logging in as other people. The data does not link to a student historically, meaning I can a students progress throughout the year. The students enjoy it and I am excited to explore the "homework" feature soon.

Student work contributes to the classroom conversation!
My overall opinion is that Nearpod is a wonderful tool that can embed student work and input in the conversation of a course. While creating a Nearpod can be a timely process depending on the extent of the presentation it can also be something that is used quickly on the fly to capture student thoughts.

Spectacular tool for creating engaging, interactive presentations!
I LOVE using Nearpod. The interactive features are my favorite part. Students can truly work through the presentation as an entire group as well as have individual time to go through particular aspects at their own pace. An email with a link can be sent to any student who is absent. Which brings me to the part I do not like. Certain aspects of the app are in the paid for version. The free version is useful, but to enjoy all the features, you must pay the subscription fee.

A great tool for PD. Model best practices for teachers!
As with any tool, this has the potential to be really transformational (when assessments, and student-led features are activated appropriately), or just another way to be the 'Sage on the Stage'. I find that when modeling this tool, pedagogy must be addressed!
