A wide-range of reading material for student book clubs or lit studio exploration.
I really like the potential of Litpick. I showed the book review graphic organizer to my students, and they were disappointed that I didn't find the site until the end of the semester. I wish there were more recognizable authors/titles on the site, but it could be cool for my students to become trend-spotters and talent scouts.
It did take a little exploration for me to figure out the site, too. I had to create a group for my students and act as their sponsor. They need to wait a day or two after replying to the invitation in order to be approved, too. I couldn't figure out a way to get books without jumping through several hoops.
I'm excited to teach my students more about review books and evaluating new authors. Litpick provides a wealth of structure for this process as well as many examples for modeling.
