Fewer words means students learn to verbally express themselves.
What I really like about Haiku Deck is that it limits the text. When using Haiku Deck as part of an oral presentation, students need to know the content of the topic, and not depend on the visual to provide the information. The application accesses the student's camera roll for images, or they can use the provided ones (which are beautiful). Three slides, and that's it.

Beautiful, simplistic presentations with easy sharing
Haiku Deck is an iPad app that guides the user through creating presentations. With only a few choices in slide setups, it frees up the decision making in the presentations to focus more on the content and less on the details of the slides. It is easy to create new presentations, easy to publish and share presentations, and fun to explore the creative commons image search. However, better filters in place for the Creative Commons image search would be preferable - while inappropriate images are not common, they can show up occasionally.

Beautiful format and easy to use for simple presentations
This app basically allows the user to make a pretty simple presentation similar to a power point. The pictures in the gallery are beautiful and make for pretty presentations. The ability to search for pictures within the app is quite handy.

Great presentation tool to let the pictures do the talking, not the words on the screen!
Students loved seeing the pictures used to help describe the lesson and they are much more engaged with this type of presentation than a powerpoint filled with words.

Beautiful Imagery and Bold Words
Haiku Deck is my new favorite presentation tool. The fact that creative common photos are built right into the program is great. Students know the pictures are all safe to use, and the pictures are usually very high quality. They can also upload their own photos if needed. It's nice that you can switch between basic text, lists, and graphs. Currently, the iPad version has more themes, but the web version is really easy to use. Working in a high school where all students have a Google Apps account, it's easy for each student to create an account using that e-mail address. I think students find it's very easy to use, and it's fast since you don't have to search for photos on another website or search engine. It's a great alternative to PowerPoint, and the simple text stands out and looks professional. And, since photos are in the Creative Commons, the attributions are already included.
But, speaking of PowerPoint, if students download their deck to PowerPoint, they can then add videos and narration. It can then be set to run automatically. A huge plus with this is the photo credits are automatically at the bottom of the slide.

I believe that the con that it has limited imaging filtering to be correct and the rating should be upgraded.
One of the best uses of the iPad.
