Happy with Haiku Deck
Haiku Deck is a VERY special app. It has the ability to transform and be all things to all users. For lower academy children, special ed or ELL students, Haiku Deck is very supportive and fairly simple to understand and use. More advanced and tech savvy students love the beautiful photo gallery, bold colors and wide variety of pictures for the vocabulary search items. In addition, Haiku Deck offers a good baseline by instilling confidence, tech fluency and magic. Ultimately, Haiku Deck prepares scholars for more complex presentation tools down the line.

Simple creation tool for making amazing presentations light on text and heavy on images
Haiku Deck is an easy way to make polished looking presentations. I love the look of the visuals. I love the fact that it is web based and you can easily find the source of the images. I like that they keep updating the features.

Easy to use web-based presentation tool that uses high-resolution images and minimal text to engage all learners.
I love this presentation tool. First of all, it is web-based so there are no issues with platform or version. It is easy to learn and use. I was able to figure it out in about an hour and was able to create a presentation on both my computer and my iPad.
There are minimal templates which forces the user to be thoughtful about the text they include. The high res images pulled for you from the creative commons act as metaphors in the presentations which puts the viewers in a position to think about more than just the text.
If you're looking for a new presentation tool for both inside and outside the classroom this is a great one.

Great product. However, BE WARNED, there appears to be limited image filtering, inappropriate images for students do appear.
I love it. But again, there is limited image filtering, more often than it should inappropriate images do appear.

Teach students to make compelling visuals for their presentations!
My own children have made and delivered given 3-minute presentations to their classes starting in first grade using Haiku Deck. My senior students in Advanced Placement classes use it too. It's a beautiful, simple tool. It should be noted that Power Point could be used in the exact same way, but few people do so. This product directs the designer away from heavy text and gimmicks, forcing them to plan their content and visuals instead of using the technology as a crutch.

Simple and Beautiful Presentations
I think Haiku Deck presentations are simple and beautiful. The images, that are easily searched for, really create an interesting presentation. No one enjoys watching a PowerPoint being read to them, and Haiku Deck changes all of that.

Truly Visual Presentation Tool
I liked using haiku deck with my group of learners. I really liked the fact that the focus was on pictures instead of words and that the program limited the number of words per slide. I also really liked that it allowed students to use their creativity to interpret the information when selecting background images. Even though the students were using the same information their presentations were all a little bit different based on the story they chose to tell using the pictures. I also liked that it was very easy to export you deck once it was complete to a power point file to be shared or presented.
They only issues we came across was the internet version of haiku deck seemed more "buggy" than the iPad app, students ran into issues saving their presentations, loading them, and their stock images loading quickly on the internet version, whereas there were no issues with the iPad app version.

Something different for presentations.
Yes, I think it's something different. Many of us have hit the point when we've seen and used so many PowerPoint and Keynote presentations, the themes and layouts are like a second nature, and recognizable like old friends. Haiku Deck offers novel fonts, a striking visual "look," and some helpful features. The image search suggestions are nice, but it's annoying to have sign up for an account/ sign in. It's not as manipulable as some of the old stalwarts, doesn't offer as many features, but for something new that the kids haven't seen before a hundred times, it works.

Great alternative to traditional presentation applications
It was a great alternative to Google Slides, Powerpoint, and Prezi. It offered different types of themes and layouts for the kids to utilize.

Presentations in a fun, creative way!
I really like using Haiku Deck in my classroom. It's interactive, easy to use, fun to use, and allows for creative freedom. It doesn't entirely teach the students how to prepare a presentation, but it does help with showing them how to not over-do the visual presentation. My students and I both really enjoy using it!
