Great way to make something that seems mundane interesting!
Quizlet is great not only for vocabulary building but to convey any information. It's ability to have students collaborate on different sets is awesome. Students will love to play the games and track their progress.

Great way of getting students involved.
I used this program to create quizzes for my students to interact with my lessons and see if they are understanding the concepts. I thought it was a little crazy to figure out at times, and basic, but it worked. I may not have known how to use it really well, but I thought it was beneficial for what I used it for.

Effective for test review, fun for the kids.
I put all of my study guides on our account for the students to use in class or on their own. It takes some time, but once a review is up it is there for posterity. The kids can also create their own reviews. The downside is, teachers cannot control the distractors on practice tests and the site/app isn't particularly effective in doing so on its own.

BEST resource I could give my students who don't want to make their own notecards!
Wow, how much do I love quizlet.com? Enough that they should be giving me some kind of a royalty for the # of students and parents that I refer to the site. This is a website that has add-on apps -- that are all free! -- that my students LOVE to download and use. In addition, when I bring it up at B2SN or P/T conferences, parents get so excited to have a tool that allows them to help their kids with information they may not know themselves. My only critique is that in order to use the "insert photo" option you have to become a pro member ... but I'll be honest, I'm probably going to upgrade this year as this is one of my top 5 sites I use.

Best Site for Vocabulary
By far the best site I use. Whether I use it for printing flash cards, making tests or playing a game of scatter, it engages students and gets them working on my learning objectives. I have used quizlet in every type of modality in my classroom. I have assigned the terms as homework. I have assigned small groups to connect the terms to the definition. I have ued it on the smart board to play scatter and I have used them to create quick assessments. I have used the site in every class for the past two years, It increases student achievement. I can not give it a higher review. If vocabulary is taught, you must use quizlet.

It's a quick & user-friendly website for making flashcards.
You can make flashcards that include pictures (you find on your own from the internet). There are a couple built-in study games you can then play with your set of cards. Also, you can save them and share them with other students. Downside: it's completely up to the student to input the text & images. I hope they get it right!

Collaboration and Customization Help Student Learning on the Go!
Quizlet allows students of all ability levels to create their own set of flashcards as well as work with their peers to create a set to use for review. It is easy to create and share a set of cards with a class or make it available to anyone. Students can add pictures to their flashcards, utilize the audio read aloud feature, and create study games or self quizzes. Students and teachers get out of it what they put into it. The simple act of creating a set of flashcards will do very little for student learning but if students are actually utilizing the flashcards at home or on the go with the Quizlet mobile app it can have a significant impact on their learning on the lower rungs of Blooms Taxonomy (Remembering & Understanding).

This was a great tool to help the students prepare for math vocabulary tests. The loved the scatter game.
I think this is a great vocabulary tool. If I had more time, I would allow the kids to create their own flashcards as well, instead of using regular index cards. The few games on there too make it enjoyable for the kids to learn the terms as well.
