Fun and exciting way for students to study vocabulary words with notecards and games
This website is a great tool for students to utilize when studying vocabulary words. I really like this website as a teaching tool. I like that the students can have an interactive way to learn and study vocabulary words. The teacher can create digital flashcards and share them with all of their students. This website allows students to study their terms on flashcards as well as play games with the words. The students loved trying to beat each others time at scatter and score on space race. I will use this website when I have vocabulary words to help my students enjoy learning. The product helps me as a teacher have different ways to teach my students vocabulary words. It makes my students enjoy learning their vocabulary words. It serves me by helping me have stations in my classroom. I set some of the students to work on Quizlet while I help other students in small groups or one on one. I wish that Quizlet had a way of quizzing other things besides just vocabulary words. It would be nice for it to expand to quiz over sequences or steps. It is transforming my classroom by making my students want to study and learn new words. It has improved all of our test and quiz scores.

Excellent flash card site!
This website is an excellent resource for flash cards. I like the various display options and the ability to have the words read aloud. This is especially helpful when it is used as a foreign language vocabulary review system.
Outside of vocabulary review, however, I don't see much value to this site but I don't believe it was intended for more than this.

Review format strong some ways, weak in others
Quizlet is a very good tool to use. The library can be searched down to the text and chapter, which can save a lot of time. The practice exam is pretty good to use, but can be confusing if you go beyond simple vocabulary. The games are limited and again don't work well for beyond vocabulary. This is a real turn off for students.

Quizlet is great for vocabulary building and it motivates students through its engaging activities.
The ease of use for teachers is commendable. When you put a vocabulary word in, you can choose one of several definitions that pop up, or choose one and edit it. Of course, you can add your own as well. You can also have the program search for images for you, saving time.

Allow your students to help create the test!
At first I was hesitant about using this site. I was worried that my students would simply make a form of internet flash card that might lead the student to rely on memorizing terms. I always try to show my students application is key, and that simply memorizing terms without being able to apply their meaning to real life situations is a bad plan. This site allowed me to show my students how to think critically about possible test questions. I gave my students the notes, and asked them to create 20 questions I could possibly ask them about the notes. This was a brief homework assignment. I was very pleased with the results. My students were able to adtually come up with good test questions. We took all of the questions created and talked about them in class. Of course I got a few student generated questions simply asking what a word meant, but we were able to discuss as a class how that was not a critical thinking question. We used these examples to re-write the poorly written questions to create application questions. I think this was probably one of the best study skills lessons my students have received in a long time. I have had students do this again on their own as a means for studying, without me asking them to do it! I also have had students tell me they now use this site in other classes as well!.

Great way to digitize busy work of flash cards.
This is a great resource for students to study. This tool takes the busywork out of the first step of basic memorization for a course. (Great for APs that require a lot of this) and lets the students spend more of their time working on the more complex levels of thinking and study applying the ideas, comparing, contrasting, etc.

This on-line vocabulary practice tool is a favorite with students.
This tool is helpful for students needing to practice vocabulary. Students can use free sets of vocabulary or join and create their own. Often the free sets have content that is applicable to our classroom topics. There are several interactive activities for practicing vocabulary and definitions on the site and it is very helpful for students both during class or independently.

Great study skills site!
FANTASTIC site for students to use to study for quizzes. I have always regarded flash cards as one of the best study tools out there - cheap and easy with great results. Easy for kids and teacher to use. Depending on the amount of information the user wishes to load, this could take longer than 15 minutes. For a standard set of 15-20 vocabulary words, 15 minutes is plenty of time once you are registered. Students are able to set up their own sets of cards and can use this for things other than vocabulary. They can set up questions as well. There really is no support for extended learning unless they create a project on their own. It's great that middle school students are old enough to use the site.
