Fairly basic, but perfect for vocabulary.
There are several apps that students would say are more "fun" but this is perfect for vocabulary. Kids will compete with each other to win the race.

kids love using this for vocab review
I really like this tool as it allows students to take charge of their learning. I like that there are multiple ways for students to practice the vocabulary words. It is not for everyone, but the students who like it really get into it. They keep trying to do better and get a higher score than the other students. For somethings, the app is a little too sensitive - for example, if you don't capitalize a word it that was entered into the program with a capital, it will mark it wrong.

Great study resource
I like the game feature - this can be done as a competition between small groups to practice vocabulary. It is a drill/memorization application. I like that you can add voice to the lists or words as well as pictures so that meaning can be attached to something concrete not just translation and rote memorization. I also like how you can self-quiz as well as use the games to quiz yourself.

Great way to review vocabulary, characters, and anything students need to memorize
This is a great tool for memorizing vocabulary, characters, literary terms, etc. The students enjoy the "games" they play to guess the answers. Just creating the flashcards helps the students to memorize the vocabulary.

Easy digital flashcards--app available!
Quizlet is a digital form of the traditional flashcard study method. Students can take computer generated quizzes and play games to help them learn the vocabulary and definitions that you enter (or choose from other teacher-created vocab lists). This is a perfect tool for students who are already using smartphones/ipod touches/tablets for everything, and it eliminates the need for spending class time to have students create their own study tools (which some may argue is worthwhile, but I would rather use our class time for lab activities).

Quizlet is a fun, easy, and creative way to study new terms and concepts.
Quizlet is wonderful. The ability to hear the terms using the Speller feature improves pronunciation along with spelling. The games allow students to practice AND have fun at the same time. The variety of features allows my students to study in the ways that work best for them. The "Add Images" feature (available with an upgraded account) allows for visual learners to get an extra layer of engagement. The upgrade is reasonably priced and well worth it.

My students are able to study at home or on the go with this amazing app.
I use Quizlet for my high school 10-12th grade Floral Design classes. I purchased the $15.00 year prescription and have up loaded hundreds of pictures that I use for flower identification. As well as practice questions that students can study as flash cards, practice test etc. The only thing I would like to change is I would like to be able to create new study sets from the app itself. Right now you have to be logged into through the website to add new pictures, content etc.
