The versatility, feasibility, and simplicity are the features that can make this App attractive for attractive for dyslexic students. I also have been using it with high functioning Autism students and they were very engaged.

Great Alternative to POWERPOINT
I thought this was a great way for the students to express what they had really learned that wasn't just a "presentation" of slides. They not only created scenarios, but got to personalize the scenes and manipulate the characters to how they wanted. They really enjoyed their experience with this product and I enjoyed looking at what they had created, rather then watching slides. It does take a minute to get used to the controls, but once you do, it is a beneficial, creative tool for the students to express themselves. It also, in this activity, creates dialog within the class as to how the "story" could have ended differently.

Comic Strips throughout Academics
I really like this tool. It is a great tool to have students apply what they have learned in a creative way. No matter what level you are at you will be able to use this application to synthesize your learning and produce a product. The students are very engaged when they are working on this program because of how easy it is to operate and how much fun they are having designing their comic. Storyboard That can be used in centers, as individual work, or as a whole class assignment. I highly recommend this program! I think the ways you can use this in your classroom are endless!

ELA and Beyond
I see this product more as an assessment tool rather than a teaching tool. I can't see myself using this to create materials to teach new content to students. I do, however, feel that it is an excellent critical thinking tool in that students must think carefully about their choices based on the details they have read or have been taught. I think the comic-like format also lends itself to any material that students must summarize. They have relatively small speech bubbles, so it is a lesson in which information is the most important to be included. I was very impressed that the free version seemed to have an abundance of scenes to choose from, as well as a wide variety of characters. Some of my students thought that there could have been more props to select from. Overall, it is fun and easy to use.

Engage Your Most Reluctant Writers Into Being Authors
I highly recommend it. I did have to pay for it after my free trial, but the $66 is well worth it. Students learned more about writing by seeing the story visually. I have also used it in small groups for science related topics and then then those students taught the topic to the class, or to a younger group.

Use Storyboard That to outline narratives or to visually summarize your reading.
This tool is a great way for students to plan their narratives. I love how the templates remove the ability to draw well. It also gives students the ability to create detailed pictures of their reading very quickly.
The free account allows two storyboards per week. This would be plenty for my students.
The only negative I have found so far is that the number of options could be a little daunting to navigate. Not really a problem there, though.
I look forward to using this more often in my class.

Great Digital Storytelling Tool
Overall, I think this is a great site. What I liked was its ease of use for both me and my students. It was very easy for me to manage my classes. I could either email students, provide a link or print out instructions for students to follow to sign up. Students found it equally easy to navigate and were immediately engaged. This is a great tool to help students plan videos, animations and or any story. It has an extensive library of clip art so it can be used in all subjects. It also provides teachers with articles, example storyboards and lesson plans. What more could you ask for?

This app is a very engaging way to tell your story.
Story Board is really simple to use. My sixth grade students were a mixture of general and special education. They all were excited to create a board, and many found that easier to share stories, then talking in front of the class when telling a personal story.

Great idea for writing in any subject area!
Useful for grades 5-10 and includes the use of dialogue bubbles, which would be extremely helpful when teaching students to include, as well as to write dialogue within their essays. I just wish it weren't so expensive, since educators/schools have so few funds!

My EL's and Special Ed students that will not write in any other media in computer apps class tell engaging stories through StoryboardThat.
I have been using it for a short time but students were very engaged, especially the low level learners. So of the edit features are a little clunky to use and I could do with out the devil and angel characters. But I started with the free trial version and felt it was worth spending $45 for a years license.
