Storyboard that

I thought this was a great way for the students to express what they had really learned that wasn't just a "presentation" of slides. They not only created scenarios, but got to personalize the scenes and manipulate the characters to how they wanted. They really enjoyed their experience with this product and I enjoyed looking at what they had created, rather then watching slides. It does take a minute to get used to the controls, but once you do, it is a beneficial, creative tool for the students to express themselves. It also, in this activity, creates dialog within the class as to how the "story" could have ended differently.

I really like this tool. It is a great tool to have students apply what they have learned in a creative way. No matter what level you are at you will be able to use this application to synthesize your learning and produce a product. The students are very engaged when they are working on this program because of how easy it is to operate and how much fun they are having designing their comic. Storyboard That can be used in centers, as individual work, or as a whole class assignment. I highly recommend this program! I think the ways you can use this in your classroom are endless!

I see this product more as an assessment tool rather than a teaching tool. I can't see myself using this to create materials to teach new content to students. I do, however, feel that it is an excellent critical thinking tool in that students must think carefully about their choices based on the details they have read or have been taught. I think the comic-like format also lends itself to any material that students must summarize. They have relatively small speech bubbles, so it is a lesson in which information is the most important to be included. I was very impressed that the free version seemed to have an abundance of scenes to choose from, as well as a wide variety of characters. Some of my students thought that there could have been more props to select from. Overall, it is fun and easy to use.
