Saving in the cloud
As a teacher you can save all file types that you want to access at home and in the classroom. You can send any type of file to students, teachers, parents... anyone! Easy to use and has the "drag and drop" functionality. Students can also use this as their file storage, so they don't have to worry about using the same computer, or have the excuse of leaving assignments at home!

Great for international collaboration and cross platform content sharing
Dropbox brings the benefits of content storage, organization and sharing to a multi-platform learning environment, especially one in which students use tablets and teachers use laptops or desktops. Dropbox is uniquely beneficial in environments where internet access is intermittent or bandwidth is limited. Cloud to device synching requires wifi, but once synched, content can be accessed (and created) offline. Best of all, Dropbox is reliably accessible globally - even from within China. From a pedagogical standpoint, Dropbox's no-nonsense emphasis on productivity and organization is an ideal way to help high school students develop the mature digital habits expected in the 21st century workplace. I would not recommend Dropbox for primary and middle school students, or for classrooms where students are all using the same devices which in turn are integrated into a cloud-based classroom management system.

Dropbox is the best app for transfering content to/from laptop and iPad.
Dropbox is an excellent solution for transferring documents from digital devices to a laptop. The interface is simplistic visually, which makes tech-resistant individuals more willing to use the tool. The process of creating an account may be a bit cumbersome, requiring the individual to activate their account through an emailed link, but once set up, the Dropbox account is very easy to use. It was a little frustrating to have a minimum storage space, but I did like the options Dropbox provided to earn additional space.

Dropbox facilitates sharing of documents between devices and helps students learn file management
I think that having students use Dropbox as a file management and storage system is a great idea. It forces students to learn how do file management correctly and allows students to access their work from any device and any place. I can share files with them, and they can share files with each other. This aids in collaboration, and reduces the need for handouts (which my students inevitably lose). Students learned how to name and store files.
