Math practice at its best!
I like how IXL can be used in various ways. It can be assigned for homework, used as a math station in class, used to review concepts or to extend them. Students like earning medals and are more motivated to complete problems on IXL than ones that the teacher assigns. I also like how I can choose to have the grade levels show up as letters instead (Level A, B, C, etc) so that students don't know what grade level skill they're doing. This is particulary helpful for students who need to work on skills far below their actual grade level.

Excellent website for skills-based math practice
IXL is a great website for learning and practicing math skills at all levels. My school recently purchased a license and my class has used the website extensively. I use it for 2 primary purposes: to reinforce recently taught skills in a computer lab and for follow up homework. My students enjoy the skills and always strive to earn a score of 100 (skill mastered). They also enjoy earning badges as they progress through their 4th grade skills. After a few months, I wonder if they will tire of the repetition, but the practice is superb.

Nice Math Program!
I like IXL because it ties the math curriculum into the website very well and provides a huge amount of reporting to see student progress. Also, it has immediate feedback and provides a brief tutorial for students if they miss a problem. However, some students don't take the time to read/think about the tutorial information and just keep guessing at the problems. The differentiation is nice and easy to implement.

Great resource for Common Core standards!
I like the set up of iXl and the fact that they not only have current state standards but also the common core standards that are being implemented. I like that the trial time is daily. If I can have a kid practice for 10 minutes a day, that is 10 minutes more than they would have spent otherwise.

Fantastic differentiated math practice
IXL allows students to practice appropriate math skills in any variety of areas. It offers a lot of great features to make it very feasible for students at a variety of levels, including changing the grade levels to letters (so students are working on Level B instead of Kindergarten--great if they are not working on grade level), having the computer read the question aloud, and data tracking for teachers.

Great Site for Summer Review Assignment!
This site is very easy to navigate both for teachers and students. Unlike many math practice sites there are ample lessons to choose from under each grade level. It's fast and easy to add classes and students, and reports are easy to read. It is also easy to see the types of problems under each lesson--you just scroll over the lesson and an example problem pops up.

Effective tool for extra practice and reinforcing skills
IXL is an effective tool for reinforcing and practicing skills already learned in class. Students can work at their own pace on assigned skills or explore those in other grade levels and receive instant feedback on their performance. The problems do not push students towards a deeper conceptual understanding of mathematical topics, but improve fluency with basic skills and operations. If students do not already have basic mastery of a certain skill, practice with IXL problems without additional guidance will not likely improve their understanding significantly. IXL has a free practice limit of 20 problems per day, and is a resource with a user-friendly interface easily accessible for extra practice at home.
