The uses are as plentiful as your creativity
When students first saw Google Earth, I used it as a way to show the locations of early explorers. Students often would hear of a place but never see where it is in reference to the world. Now student can see for themselves. Students got excited to work with Google Earth and save their tours to share with other students.

I love to use this for my students to see geographic features!
I think this is an excellent resource for students who may not have exposure to different land features or places. Its like they get to take a trip free of cost anywhere in the world.

If you teach a history class you need to use Google Earth. This app allows students to understand the geography and architecture of different regions. Google Earth allows you to take students on field trips that you would never be able to afford.

Full-bodied Geography Tool That Brings the Rest of the World Closer
This is an excellent tool to help kids realize that there are real people in the rest of the world living their daily lives. Google Earth has many great features that can help history and geography come alive. It is a very full-featured program, so there may components of the program that you never get to, but that's ok. Just helping kids understand where a story is taking place can make all the difference.
