Demonstrates student understand in a fun way!
Explain Everything is a great app to use as a formative assessment of student learning. The students enjoy the ability to be creative and create videos. Students seem to enjoy working in groups rather than alone when using Explain Everything. One of the best apps for students on the iPad!

If you can only purchase one App, this is the one!
This App engages students by integrating multimedia, drawing, text and recording all in one place. It's easy to use and has great resources online to help the user to use it to its full potential. This App is displayed as grades 7-12, but I would use this with elementary students without hesitation. I would love to have the grade levels assigned to this App changed to reflect its ease of use with younger students.

The BEST app for creating digital projects that can be so easily shared!
This is a great tool for a teacher to use to create that "flipped classroom" it is easy to create, record and share lessons with all of your students. It is easy to use, once you get the hang of it. There are a few minor issues that I have run into in my years of using this in the classroom. Many of the issues I have had in the past have been resolved, so the creators have a good reputation with making their product better. The biggest concern that I have always had is with crashing. When it first came out it crashed a lot and you would lose all of the content you created (super bummer), although it still crashes (much less frequently now) they have added a backup feature that saves most of your work automatically, I still strongly recommend to save as frequently as possible. That leads me to the second issue, which is it ALWAYS ask you if you want to override the project when you go to save it! This drives me nuts, because every student is always hesitant about selecting yes to override! This is just one of those minor things that can be a pain at first, but after many uses you get used to it! Lastly, it can get somewhat confusing when it is time to share and download the project. This is only due to the fact that Explain Everything can be connected to just about all of the file-sharing applications (dropbox, box, google drive, etc), which, on the other hand, is very handy.
All-in-all, I totally recommend this app for all teacher and students that are using iPad's in the classroom. Although it is a paid app and there are similar free apps out there, I believe this is the best of them!

The app name says it all... explain everything. The ultimate whiteboard app
Explain Everything is exactly as it sounds. The concept of a flipped lesson, a whiteboard that lets you record audio, sharing to the web, this app does it all. It integrates seamlessly with cloud platforms such as Google Drive and Dropbox. You can use it as a simple whiteboard app and record your notations, including audio voiceover as needed.
The app is also great because it allows you to import previously recorded audio and video files, allowing you to mix newly created material with existing artifacts.
Of all the apps in the app store this is definitely one worth purchasing. The ability to literally explain anything for your students and share it via YouTube or popular cloud services make this app invaluable.

Powerful tool for learners of all ages
Explain Everything is such a diverse tool and can be used in so many ways. As a coach modelling lessons, I've used this with Grade 1 students who were up and running with basic functions quickly and also with Grade 6 students who took a little longer to find their way around more advanced functions. We'd tried another app at school which worked in a similar way but didn't cost anything however found limitations with outputting files - this was worth the very small price we paid for it.

Terrific for sharing ideas, insights, and information
Explain Everything is an important general use app that lets students gather information (images, graphics, video, text, voice) to share with others in a variety of formats. Students and teachers can create projects that communicate original ideas via screencasts (captured video) or live using an AppleTV set up. Teachers can design projects that mimic interactive whiteboard activities. Students can develop projects that showcase their own understanding of “everything”.
EE is loaded with video tutorials that teach very advanced uses of this tool. Students that are ready for more complex work can use these lessons to expand their skills. The opportunity to explore and enrich their knowledge at their own pace creates an excellent environment for student collaboration. There is no greater avenue for group learning then when one student learns to do something new and cool. Invariably, a small group of students is ready to learn and incorporate the new ideas into their own work.
