I found this site just in time to help my 6th graders choose their science fair projects. The kids really liked that you can take a survey to help narrow down your interests as my students are interested in so much. The site then led them to ideas for projects based on their interests. I am impressed because some (many) project ideas even list materials & possible cost. It provides the children the opportunity to brainstorm or analyze, do i need all this or can i do it different or less expensive? This site is definitely worth using.

Science Buddies is an excellent resource for teachers at all grade levels. Teachers and students can find great ideas for possible science projects or studies as well as basic information about specific science careers. There are resources for teachers to run a science fair and for students to plan their projects. There are several rubric examples for teachers and students to use as well.

Great resource for science fair activities. Great starting point for projects. Very detailed instructions for students and parents. Teacher area with many resources. One very handy feature is an interactive survey to help students narrow their research choices.

Science Buddies is a clearinghouse of science fair project ideas across subjects. Most topics also include step-by-step directions and instructions. Students prefer to use online resources to find science fair topic ideas and Science Buddies is a great tool. I would prefer that Science Buddies not include "half-baked" ideas or projects that do not have all of the information about materials and process already written. It would also be acceptable for them to create a simple sort or search feature to exclude the half-finished project ideas.
