A Wealth of Knowledge at your Fingertips
I love this website and use it all the time with all of my classes, K to 5. I find that even though it is Brainpop Jr. my students in grades 4 & 5 enjoy and learn from it. I am at a Title I school and regular Brainpop was often above the students and I would end up doing a lot of pre and re teaching of concepts, with Brainpop Jr. I do not need to do this.
I love the program and when asked whether we need to renew it each year I quickly say yes. It is one of the databases I do not want to loose.
One thing I do not like is that the students have to login. In my district most of our databases are IP authenticated within the district meaning the students do not need to login to access them. Getting the younger students to login can be very time consuming which is why I usually do it whole class for them.

Excellent resource for introducing a new concept!
I have been subscribing to Brainpop Jr. for 3 years and I am always very happy with it. The information is presented in a fun, kid-friendly manner. My students love Annie and Moby! Annie does a nice job of explaining things in a way that 8 year olds will understand. She also asks questions and lets you pause the movie for kids to answer it. Moby adds a lot of humor to the videos which the kids love! The movies aren't very long. I would guess around 5 minutes on average so it's great way to grab their attention and get their focus on the skill we will be working on. The extra applications are great too. The games are fun and educational. There is a wide variety of movies to choose from but I don't believe they have added any new movies in awhile. Since I have been using it for 3 years now, it would be nice to see some new movies added to the menu. However, the subscription cost is definitely worth it in my opinion. The students and I use it all year long.

Enhancement to ALL lessons
I use this in my kindergarten class on a nearly daily basis. The videos enhance any thematic lesson I am teaching about. They take already known knowledge about a familiar topic and further the learning. It is great for a SMART Board. I love that it reaches many students BRAINPOP for Elementary and Middle school, BRAINPOP Jr for early elementary, as well as BRAINPOP ESL and Espanol for ELL learners.

Great whole class comprehension-subscript costly
I think it's a great app/website for kids to be able to watch and listen to a topic and be able to answer a variety of Blooms/Costa's questions on the topic. Students are engaged and really like the ability to problem solve with the group the answers.

This would be great for students to use as a extra tool. Special needs students could work
on their own or with assistance.

A good scope of content, although not very extensive
With my 4th grade English Language Learners, we used this site for video/listening activities and also as a visual for math concepts. The kids really like it because the characters are fun and not too long. I like that there are multiple activities around the topics, but it would be great to build up more topics!

Great way to get students hooked on a topic or concept
I am not always keen to use videos in the classroom, but teaching Music over the past two years I used this site. I used both the regular and the junior sites, to explain concepts in music that were otherwise abstract. Very useful, and the kids love it.

Great Site to Quickly Assess Students
This site is great to quickly assess student learning. It is filled with short videos that teachers can utilize with their students. There are many resources available with each video too. There are quizzes, activities, vocabulary, etc. You could use these resources in a variety of ways: in class assignments, homework assignments, quizzes to quickly assess student learning for a lesson you taught and/or from the video, etc.
