Wonderlicious articles!
I love using this site because of the accessibility features. It allows all types of learners to understand the text. The images are rich and the content is engaging. Since it identifies the vocabulary it helps the students better understand the content. If you want a great science article this is it. Along with the article there is a section called try it out. This section explains to the students how they could work with family or friends to dive into the topic more.

Engaging Students in Info Text Articles
Student enjoyed reading the articles, but there is not a lot of support for low literacy students or enough games to keep them engaged for more than a few minutes. However, for tech-phobic teachers, it's a good starter site to feel more comfortable infusing more digital resources into the curriculum. I utilized this more often for that extra unplanned 5 minutes that pop up time to time from schedule changes. While this site isn't something we visit all the time, when we do it's always intriguing!

Great kid-friendly trivia!
I love Wonderopolis. It is extremely easy to implement into the classroom. It engages students with different learning styles and interests. It is customizable because if you do not want to use the "Wonder of the Day", you can select other wonders for the students. There are also vocabulary and questions that can be imbedded into it as well.

Curiosity won't kill this cat!
My students thoroughly enjoy learning about random topics. As a teacher, I admire the questions that are asked, the vocabulary words, the extended learning and ways to experiment at home. It challenges my students to think critically and experiment to see if the information is true.

Curiosity Galore!
This site has many uses across grade levels and content areas. I like how it includes a video along with the text, the ability to listen to the text being read aloud. There's a focus on key vocabulary or wonder words, a place for digital pictures, and a place to join in the discussion surrounding any given topic. Students can even submit their guesses on what they think the next wonder will be. Teachers and students can even search for topics of interest. I do prefer the web-based version over the app as it's more student friendly. As an emerging or struggling reader, I would be completely overwhelmed by the app and the amount of words. The app doesn't have the option to watch the video or have the text read aloud or even join in the discussions. The web-based version is far more robust and useful especially for the younger students. Use it! Your kids curiosities will definitely be peaked.

Great Inquiry based site for elementary students-stimulates curiosity
I like this resources as it is a inquiry based site which works very well with the scientific method of inquiry.
Great list of books for further exploration listed at the end of Camp Wonderopolis.
Excellent tie-ins available for classroom themes, very easy to use /find themes in educator Sandbox
Use in a whole group setting as videos may be blocked in the school setting,
Like the Common Core look-up setting
Review with students digital citizenship before they can post on the "What You Are Wondering" section- I wish you could make this section private for your classroom
Is COPPA compliant- see privacy notice.
