It is great because students can access it from their home computers.

This is an excellent tool and is also an app that can be downloaded onto a tablet. The speakers are generally very engaging and have been well-prepared

I have only used the math portion but I consider in a very valuable tool. I will sometimes recommend videos to struggling students.

I very much like the different perspectives given and I would recommend it to any educator who feels like having a different take on how to teach a concept would be beneficial. I use it especially for my Math 1 class, where concepts often just need to be 'seen' a different way.

Khan Academy is great for students to use to help them master skills that they are struggling. In using Khan Academy student's have the ability to gain a better understanding as well as practice to master skills in core content area. It allows student's to have more time for independent work on mastering skills.

I think it's a wonderful instructional aid in helping students understand specific chemistry concepts that prove to be difficult to master for students. I don't use it as the primary direct instruction lesson, but as a supplement to help strengthen understanding. I like the Sal has a very extensive knowledge of chemistry concepts and is able to effectively convey those concepts in a pencast. I think it can help students understand from a different speaker or different perspective. Sometimes students just need to see the same concept explained by a different speaker on examples given in a different manner for them to understand.

I like Khan Academy and the idea behind its creation. However, Sal sometimes is quite monotonous and seems to be too focused on his delivery via the presentation tool and not the real content that should be the main focus. If I had the time to create videos like this, on my own, I would do so and try to create a flipped classroom for my class, but with the time and ability to do so, Khan Academy is a way to go about it, without all of the work involved.

If the explanations were simpler, it could be a better and more useful teaching tool.

I am not that impressed with the instructional videos that are on the site, but the assessment piece is quite nice. The students can also used the site at home so their parents will also understand the math concepts being presented in class. I think they could do a little better about using the math strategies demanded by the Common Core State Standards.

My overall opinion of this product is that it is extremely useful. I have my students use this product as a daystarter, as a review and occasionally for homework.
