Fun way to teach Engineering/Structures concepts
Community Review for World of Goo
My Take
World of Goo is a really cool game about building structures with different building materials (or types of goo balls). It's a great way to get younger students interesting in building and structural engineering and then transition into real-world materials, their properties, forces and structures.
How I Use It
I first introduce it as a two-day engagement activity to get students excited about structures and material properties. Then, as we continue through the course, I challenge students to try to beat the game after they have finish their assignments each day in class. Great way to encourage learning and keep kids engaged even when completed with an activity.
