My Take

Wakelet allows teachers to gather, organize and share multimedia resources (text, images, videos, podcasts) with students, colleagues and learning communities. I love that it is free, works on all devices, and takes only minutes to demonstrate and bring users on board (“riding the wake”).

How I Use It

In a digital age, curation is an essential media literacy skill for all students. The National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE) now recognizes Curation as the “5th C,” added to Critical thinking, Connecting, Communicating, Collaborating, and Creating. During professional development workshops, I like to introduce Wakelet as an easy (and fun) tool for providing context and meaning to resources, taking research to a new level.
