Toca Tea Part is a fun app to use with a small group. It is a great too to teach sharing as well as manners.
How I Use It
I use this when working with young learners as a "break" or "reward". They look forward to having a tea party and enjoy serving tea and snacks to our guests. When we're done the game has us clean up which is also fun and reinforces normal routines. The game can be played with more than one student or can be played independently with imaginary guests.

Great app to work on language development and pretend play skills for kids with developmental differences!
I love the open play nature of the Toca Boca apps! They allow children to be intensive and practice skills. I also enjoy that a wide variety of ages can come together and play around the tablet. In addition, many children don't have the motor planning or language abilities to participate in pretend play, but need to be included with peers and practice. I love that you can turn and off the radio, choose plates, the drinks and the desserts. I wish they would add in choices to the cleanup part and have kids wash the dishes. It would be wonderful if Toca Boca had a guide with suggestions for teachers and therapists, but giving adults and kids the freedom to be creative in your play together is their goal.

Fun but not sure classroom-appropriate
While I love this app for my own kids, I think it would replace physical creative play in the classroom. This app gives kids a passive, stationary way to do a tea party, while a little kitchen station with a cheap plastic tea set, bandanas for napkins, and dolls would give them a chance to work on motor skills, spatial relationships, and social and linguistic skills, and probably interpersonal relations as well. Fun app, but not even remotely appropriate for classroom time.
