My Take

Super app and a great resource. I think the original review did not fully understand how child-centric learning works in this tool.

One note: Schools using the VPP must buy the Full version of the app.

As it is open play it doesn't tell students where to go, but in our classrooms kids always guide each other.

How I Use It

I use the app to introduce the concept of body systems. Most 5-year-olds barely comprehend the idea that the food they eat passes through a tube in their body and comes out the other side. This app makes exploring the various systems clear (focuses on one or two concepts per system) and easy to comprehend. The learning is in the interactions. I especially like the way the app uses the ipad's camera to demonstrate the eye, and the mic for the ear.

For our older kids the app is a great way to learn body parts. Over 600 labels are included. And for our ESL students the app allows them to switch between English and their home language.
