My Take
If you need a one-stop shop for author & book info, this is it. No frills looks-wise, but you will get all the publisher-created materials about the book in one place, reviews, author interviews, book trailers, and teacher features like lesson plans and text complexity measures. Popular new books are included with a large back catalog of children's/YA books searchable by title, author, illustrator, award list, series, and subject. TeachingBooks offers webinars and asynchronous self-guided PD, and site curators have been very responsive with requests through the web site.
How I Use It
TeachingBooks.net has a vast collection of original & aggregated material on authors and books, including author pronunciation audio clips, reviews, interviews, lesson plans, and book trailers. The design is stuck in Web 1.0 (cluttered, LOTS of text) but the content is there once you get past the look and feel of the site. Basic features like a citation tool and a Share to Google Classroom button are in every page footer and students can use the site to create custom reading lists. The literacy calendar on the homepage, including bookish events and author birthdays, is a nice feature to build displays or plan reading celebrations and there are some search features that support diverse collection development.
