My Take

Having used other apps, this one does not stand out as having any qualities that make it better than the rest. It does what it says it can do. The kids might enjoy the interaction, but they would no matter what app or device you use.

How I Use It

This shared whiteboard app allows the teacher to walk around the room and check on students' independent work. It also allows for some, (three for the free version) students to interact with whiteboard at a time. I would suggest using this for group presentations. It would be fun to see how the students present in a group and interact with each other while doing so. As a whole group tool, it does let the teacher use proximity to keep all students on task. Teachers can manipulate the whiteboard from everywhere in the room. So if working with an individual or small group, the teacher can change the board to allow other students to move on with the lesson.

Free whiteboard that can be used for blended learning

I believe there are more efficient and more engaging apps and websites that serve the same function but in a more visually appealing way such as Padlet and Answer Garden.

This is a zoomable and sharable whiteboard app for presentations or teaching.

I have used a variety of these whiteboard apps. This one is not any better than others. The free version only allows 3 boards to be used at a time, while the $9.99 version is unlimited. Options are limited on what you can do as well. I use PDF format a lot and this app did not allow me to upload that as my background (some other whiteboard tools do). It was easy to use, but felt laggy in the display. A weird thing also happened. When I tapped "undo" the line that was to be cleared off would delete from the web version first, then the iPad. Strange. I am a fan of another whiteboard tool over this one, although SyncSpace does work as it is intended. It is a good way to be mobile and project your device to the LCD screen.
