My Take

This website is of limited use but for what it does it works. It's one of several tools like it and it's worth teaching kids how to use it.

How I Use It

I used Slide Share with my higher level students when they created presentations about the historical context of The Great Gatsby. Using Slide Share allowed them to share presentations with each other without having to use Google Drive or Power Point. They had the opportunity to create content to help their classmates learn about the 1930s. They also shared their work with the general public and received feedback from people outside of our community. Students who have a preference for using only certain presentation tools for creating content quickly transferred their skills over to using Slide Share. They also discovered another place where they could seek information and presentations about topics that they might need to review. It was easy for students to teach themselves and each other how to use it and turned my classroom into a truly student centered space for the time that we worked on the 1930s project. Any other presentation tool would work as well.
