Sentence builder helps students learn to write grammatically correct students. Students enjoy the hands-on ability of practicing an age old skill that is fundamental to learning to read and write.
How I Use It
The students that I used with this were below grade level readers who struggle with text comprehension because they don't understand sentence structures. This app allowed them the practice that they needed to get with "ready" made sentence structure options...this way they actually practice the skill of building sentences and time/effort is not spent coming up with the actual sentence parts.
There are some limitations with the leveling options in the app: the sentence themselves don't change in complexity but the choices that the user is presented with become more complex.
