My Take
I thought it was really useful if you already understand the concepts being presented. It would be difficult for a younger student that had not studied seismic activity to understand without guidance.
How I Use It
I actually used this as a visual tool while explaining plate tectonics in my classroom.
I used this to create an Earth Science Lab on Plate Tectonics.

Displays recent earthquakes from USGS website
This app is a nice display of USGS website information, but that's really all it is. You can display recent earthquakes on a map, click on them to get more information, and link to the USGS website. There's very little else to it. It would be great to have some more discovery activities, or supplemental information about plate boundaries or types of quakes. Without those, this seems like mostly a front-end to the USGS website.
