My Take

I love Plicker as an informative assessment tool. I am able to use the results to redirect my instruction if necessary and identify students in need of more direct instruction or intervention. The students really like the immediacy of the results. They get excited when their scores improve. I like that students have individual "codes." But when students get stuck, they just look at their classmates' answers and try to match the results. So I can't always tell when they "get it."

How I Use It

I use Plicker during my lesson. I give the students a multiple choice question and they use their Plicker cards to answer. I get the results immediately and the students like seeing how the class does as a whole. We go over the correct answers and the incorrect answers by discussing the errors that resulted in the wrong answers. I usually provide another question and we compare our results. If some students answer both questions incorrectly, this directs me to conference with them during the work period.
