A quick and lively way to engage and share student responses.
Community Review for Padlet
My Take
Padlet (formally Wallwisher) is a quick and lively way to engage and share student responses. Padlet doesn't require registration, which makes this a great "on the fly" activity, especially if students have the ability to scan a QR Code. However, I recommend taking the time to create the free account -- this allows time to set up a board, customize backgrounds and think about how students will access the resources. Padlet has incorporated the use of social media and the ability to save and print. It is much easier to share the board than to create private boards. I suggest using an account to help protect student privacy, as well as assigning students a number instead of using their names.
How I Use It
Padlet use ideas:
* Brainstorming - Have students post their ideas as an individual activity or as a Think/Pair/Share
* Key Idea Organizer - After a reading, have students post what they believe are the key ideas of the passage, then, after everyone has posted, rearrange similar ideas into a bar graph. This allows the students to read the key ideas and see which ideas were thought to be most important.
* Formative Assessment - Have students post their ideas, then save to review for later, or send to your social media for other students to access.
