My Take

Overall, I think this is a great supplemental tool that is more technically engaging than drills on the whiteboard or workbooks. Students like the interactivity and the ability to work at their own pace. I as a teacher love the sheer amount of organized data it provides to help me plan instruction.

How I Use It

I use No Red Ink as practice to reinforce grammar concepts in my 10th grade World Literature classroom. I try to give students 20 minutes twice a week in class to work in their assignned units so I can go around and answer questions or teach any mini lessons I need to. Otherwise, students work in No Red Ink for homework. I also use the growth quizzes in my gradebook a few times a quarter (after students have had plenty of practice/achieved mastery, of course).
