My Take
This is a great support tool to have as part of a larger repertoire of learning math fact strategies. Students who are visual-spatial and struggle with linear timed tests or drill practice may like this slant because they are trying to find just the right combinations to complete the puzzle. I like how students can use trial and error with the puzzle and found that because of that, students remember their facts better and could visualize rather than just memorize. There are also levels, which worked well with all my learners.
How I Use It
This is a good alternative to math fact practice, especially for non-linear learners. It combines the facts and requires problem-solving rather than just knowing the facts. Overall, my students liked it, but got bored of it sooner than I had hoped. I used this more of an option rather than a requirement, and that worked well. Students who were interested in this type of puzzle preferred it over the basic math fact app.
