My Take
Measurement HD is a kid-friendly app with stimulating visuals and audio instructions to guide kids through each activity. When playing the games, they are set at a beginner’s level and there seems to be no end unless you hit the home bottom. Also, there is no progress monitoring, which would be helpful to track to see how well students understand the concepts. In addition, I would recommend adding a ruler feature into this app where students can drag a ruler to measure objects and type in the correct measurement.
How I Use It
In my classroom, I used this app to reinforce a student’s goal in measurement. The student was using the app individually, and was working at a lower level than other learners in the classroom. I found this app to be great to reinforce concepts I taught in class. Most of the activities in this app only have two options with verbal directions. So this makes it easier for students who struggle with these concepts to focus and show their success. I would recommend using this app for younger students to further practice their understanding of measurement concepts.
